Sniper / Observer - (Basic Marksman)

Service Description

Marksman - This course is designed to provide law enforcement personnel with the basic skill set to perform as a sniper/observer. The course will cover the fundamentals of marksmanship and focuses on the many skills required to deliver accurate shot(s) at identified target(s). Sniper/observers function as the eyes for the command structure during tactical operations, while operating under a variety of conditions. The attendee will be challenged with numerous drills and simulated tactical scenarios that will make the attendee a successful member of a sniper/observer team. Topics covered will include weapons safety, care/cleaning/storage of the precision rifle, data book utilization, ballistics, fundamentals of marksmanship, loading and reloading drills, scope adjustments and environmental considerations, range estimation with Mil-Dot and Duplex reticles, malfunctions, stalks/movements in the field, urban hides and operations, vehicle hides and deployment, and observational drills and communication techniques. NYS certified sniper instructor.
